Authors Note
Harrison’s book took a while to figure out. Not because I didn’t know his story but because I wasn’t sure whether or not to start off after the events of Dead Serious, the series where the characters are first introduced. However, doing that meant that I would be skipping almost two years of the beginning of Sam and Harrisons relationship.
In the end I decided that it would be better to go back to the very beginning and tell the story from their side. This is not simply a retelling of Dead Serious from a different character pov, instead it gives it so much more depth and reveals so much more of what went on behind the scenes. Things you didn’t see in DS. I personally think you could jump right into Harrison story without having read DS and keep up but if you are new to the Crawshanks Universe. Dead Serious is always the place I’d recommend you start.
While DS is funny and chaotic will a lot of emotional moments. Little Shop is somewhat... I hesitate to use the words darker or heavier, but there is a lot going on. It still has the humour and heart of dead serious but it has the more complex storylines of my Guardians series.
In the Little Shop series I will take you on a journey through time and magic from present day Whitechapel to Victorian London as Harrison and Sam begin to unravel the incredible legacy Harrison was born into.
Enjoy!
