Audio Updates

Hey there!

I'm very excited to announce The Haunted Hotel (book 1) is now available as an audiobook, narrated by Joel Leslie! It has been an absolute joy to listen to Joel bring the characters to life, especially Bertie, Roger and all the other ghosts of The Ashton-Drake Manor House Hotel.

This audio is currently available in my official webstore www.vawncassidystore.com.

Over the past several months there have been some big changes to ACX/Audible regarding their royalty rates and their all you can listen catalogue and policies. Many of these considered to be very unfavourable for independent authors such as myself.

It's honestly been very difficult to know what to do moving forward. Before, I was content to have certain audios as exclusive to my store and the rest of the main series exclusive to Amazon/Audible, but when all of these new changes came to light there was and is, a lot of conflicting information and honestly, there really is, at this point, no way to gauge how these changes will affect indie authors.

My first instinctive reaction was to pubish my newest audio (Haunted Hotel) wide using Spotify, InAudio and my store. However, with the current economic climate many readers are still having to use Audible memberships and simply can't afford to purchase elsewhere.

I want to be able to keep my content as affordable and accessible as possible, and still be able to fund future audios, so it's been really hard knowing what to do for the best.

For the time being, I have come to the decision to place the Haunted Hotel audio into Audible and then take a step back for the next few months and see what happens. Therefore the Haunted Hotel audio will remain in my store for the next week and then removed once it goes live in Audible, which hopefully should be in the next ten days or so.
